Alfie Moon – ‘Hunting, hunt sabotage and the case for European Union
Legislation’ (ENG)
14u30 – 15u30

Alfie Moon is a life long activist. He’s held talks all over Europe, informing people how they can actively and peacefully sabotage the hunt. Hunters don’t return the courtesy peacefully. As such the Hunt Sabs have endured threats to their lives and extreme violence. Yet, they remain undeterred to ban this blood sport to its rightful place, the history books. The Hunt Saboteurs Association consists of people who, since mid-20th century, refuse to accept animals being shot at and killed for sports. In the UK, sabotaging the hunt has a long standing tradition and across Europe people are forming their own Hunt Sab groups. Last year animal rights activists in Belgium decided to take a stand against this bloody tradition and founded Belgian Hunt Sabs. Alfie is a charismatic speaker whose talk will move you and, hopefully, motivate you to stand up for wildlife.

Alfie Moon has been actively involved in campaigning on a number of issues, including apartheid, nuclear weapons and power and the environment, for over 35 years. In 1995 he decided to focus mainly on Animal Rights, and since 2000 he has concentrated on hunting.
He’s the Information Officer of the Hunt Saboteurs association, which includes the Education and International development roles. He sabotages hunts every week during the hunting season in the UK and has been involved in setting up ‘sab’ groups in several other countries.
